Guided Hunts
GUIDED MOREL MUSHROOM HUNTS
It is challenging at best to choose when to do a guided morel mushroom hunt. Beginning in 2009 we will be offering options for our guided hunts.
OPTION 1 Open to any one wanting to learn how to find morel mushrooms. This is a learning experience. On the day of the hunt the group will decide to each keep their own morels or to collectively hunt and then divide the morels up by those participating.
We will meet at 8:00 am on the North end of the Alpine Best Western parking lot, Gaylord, MI the Saturday before Mother’s Day. That way, anyone traveling to do this can also enjoy one of the festivals. The fee will be $100.00 per person prepaid by April 1st.* any one who wants to participate in the hunt after that day may reserve a spot** and bring $125.00 cash the day of the hunt. All moneys and signed releases will be fulfilled before leaving the parking lot.
We will be hunting public ground so that you may return to hunt any time thereafter.
OPTION 2 Open to landowners who wish to find morels on their property. These hunts will be available first come, first serve based on morel scheduling (South to North). These will be held by appointment only, mid-week, $250.00 per day, prepaid plus a gasoline surcharge based on mileage. Additionally, Maybriers will retain half of the morels collected. This hunt will also include drying instructions. A two day hunt will include a cooking demonstration. For this hunt call Theresa at 816-225-6834.
OPTION 3 This hunt is for groups. It is to be arranged as early in the year as possible.
The group organizer hires Team Morel to do a guided hunt. This can be anything from a lodge promoting a new spring opportunity to girl scouts teaching foraging techniques.
Once arrangements have been made with Team Morel it is up to the group to organize and promote their hunt. The fee will be based on destination, time involved and number of participants. ***

Cash may be paid at sport shows, seminars or on the day of the hunt.
